Wellness Center Open House-We have a very fun day planned for you and your “besties”. On August 11th from 9:00 am to 3:00 we are celebrating the Five Year Anniversary of the Wellness Center!  Where has the timegone?!?!  This special day includes the opportunity to share “your happy place” with your favorite neighbors,friends, family and guests,who are age 50 and betterfor FREE!

We will have sampler classes beginning at:

  • 9:30-10:10 with Chris’ Water Aerobics; 
  • 10:30-11:15 is Kay Q.’s Aqua Yoga; 
  • 11:30-12:00 is Pam’s Isometrics Plus; 
  • 12:30-1:00 is Tina’s Zumba;  
  • 1:30-2:00 is Tish’s Slow Flow Yoga mat class; 
  • 2:30-3:00 is Nancy's Line Dancing.  

There will be Snacks, while they last! And a Drawing for a GIFT EVERY HOUR at the top of the hour beginning at 10:00(then 11:00, 12:00, etc.) Must be present to win! Also, if you are a current member and bring in someone who purchases a new membership for 6 or 12 months, you and the new member will EACH receive a FREE ArthritisToday magazine subscription (must be new subscriptions, cannot be used as a renewal)! Supplies are limited

.>>FREE Arthritis Foundation Event–Lunch and Learn!will be held on Wed., August 15th from 11:00-1:00 in the EB Community Room. Speakers will discuss Aquatics, Yoga, and Tai Chi for Osteoarthritis (including an option-al 1-mile group walk at the end!) RSVP to Amber at 317-762-0440 or by Email toawolfe@arthritis.org. Everyone is welcome to attend including arthritis warriors, spouses, caregivers, medical professionals, others and you!

>>Re-size Your Bikini! or Weight Management in the “Modern” Era-on August 8 and August 22, from5:30–6:00pm, Sue D. leads a group to discuss successful weight management. Topics include: “How much shouldI weigh?”; “Healthy eating and weight”; “Lifestyle management and weight loss”, etc. She shares info on tools,motivation and barriers.  The 30 minute session involves the presentation of a weight management topic, briefdiscussion, sometimes yummy samples, and a weigh-in.  Weigh-ins are confidentialandoptional.  Sue is a registered dietitian who has taught “Dining with Diabetes” classes for Purdue Extension Services.  She is a member ofthe Weight Management specialty group in the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics and is interested in weight is-sues confronting older adults. Be a loser, join us! HAHA!  What have you got to lose!?!?
